With the T4X, Vivo has made noticeable improvements in design compared to its predecessors. While previous models in the TX series primarily emphasized performance, aesthetics often took a backseat. However, the T4X shifts the focus, blending both style and functionality to create a more refined look. The updated design brings a level of sophistication that was missing in earlier versions, making it a more appealing option for users who value both performance and appearance.
For this review, I received the Proton Purple variant. While I personally appreciate purple as a color, I have to say that the Marine Blue version stands out even more. Its deep, polished finish gives the phone a premium and elegant feel. If I had to pick between the two, the Blue variant would be my top choice without hesitation.
The phone’s rear panel features a combination of matte and glossy finishes. Around 80 percent of the back has a matte texture, while the camera module has a glossy surface. Although this contrast enhances the phone’s visual appeal, I believe a smaller glossy area for the camera module could have further improved its overall aesthetics. Additionally, the glossy section is prone to fingerprint smudges, which can affect the phone’s clean and sleek look over time.
In terms of ergonomics, Vivo has done an excellent job with weight distribution. Despite being a large device, the T4X feels balanced in hand—neither too heavy nor too light—offering a comfortable grip that enhances its premium appeal.
Durability is another aspect where Vivo has made significant strides. After using the device for a week, I never felt the need to handle it with extra care. The phone is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance, which means it can withstand light splashes and drizzles without concern. This added durability makes it a reliable choice for users who need a sturdy smartphone for everyday use.

The Vivo T4X is equipped with a 6.72-inch Full-HD+ LCD that offers a 120Hz refresh rate. While watching long-form content on YouTube and streaming the Sakamoto Days series on Netflix, I found the display to be reasonably sharp. However, I couldn’t help but wish for more vibrant colors—something an AMOLED panel would have delivered better. The LCD screen on the T4X, while functional, lacks the deep contrasts and punchy hues that AMOLED displays are known for.
One drawback I noticed was the scrolling animation. Despite supporting 120Hz refresh rate, the smoothness felt slightly inconsistent, especially in dark mode when scrolling through text-heavy content. Occasionally, the transitions appeared jerky, which was a bit disappointing for a high refresh rate panel.
On the plus side, the phone is Widevine L1 certified, allowing users to stream high-definition content on platforms like Netflix and Prime Video without any issues. Indoors, the screen brightness was more than sufficient for everyday tasks such as browsing social media and messaging. However, using the camera viewfinder under direct sunlight was a challenge, as the display struggled with visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
When it comes to audio performance, the experience was somewhat underwhelming. While the stereo speakers provided ample volume, they lacked the depth needed for a truly immersive sound experience. The bass response felt weak, making music playback feel flat and missing the rich, dynamic tones that would have enhanced the listening experience.
Vivo T4x: Performance and Software
The Vivo T4X is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, a chipset usually found in smartphones priced around ₹20,000 or higher. Its inclusion in this price segment makes the T4X a standout offering in terms of raw performance.
Before its launch, the CMF Phone 1 was the only device featuring this chipset in a similar price range of approximately ₹15,000. However, with the arrival of the T4X, Vivo has managed to undercut its competition while delivering stronger performance.
Vivo has done an impressive job optimizing the phone, ensuring a smooth user experience. However, this comes with certain trade-offs, particularly in software and display quality, which I’ll discuss further.
Day-to-Day Performance & Gaming
For everyday usage, the T4X handles tasks effortlessly. Whether scrolling through Instagram reels, chatting in social media groups, or engaging in casual gaming, the device remains consistently responsive.
When it comes to gaming, I tested two demanding titles—BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile—to gauge the phone’s performance. BGMI ran smoothly at 60 FPS, maintaining stable performance without any noticeable frame drops.
For Call of Duty: Mobile, the experience was even better. The game supported 90 FPS, and for most of my playthrough, the frame rate remained above 70 FPS. I didn’t experience any lags or stutters, making for an enjoyable gaming session.
Vivo T4x: Software Experience
The Vivo T4X operates on FunTouch OS 15, built on Android 15. While the overall performance optimization was commendable, the software experience fell short of expectations.
The user interface felt fast and responsive, with smooth animations and AI-powered features such as AI Erase. However, despite these positives, there were some drawbacks.
One major issue was the constant influx of spam notifications. Every time I picked up the phone for a quick browse on Instagram, I was bombarded with unnecessary alerts. This made it difficult to filter out important messages from the clutter.
Additionally, the T4X comes with preinstalled bloatware, including apps like Hot Apps and Hot Games, which detracts from the overall software experience. A cleaner, less intrusive interface would have significantly improved usability.
Vivo T4x: Battery Life & Charging
The Vivo T4X is powered by a 6,500mAh battery, making it one of the largest in its segment. During our PCMark Battery Test, it lasted an impressive 24 hours and 52 minutes—a milestone very few smartphones have achieved. The only exception in our tests was the Redmi 14C, which surpassed it by approximately two hours and 20 minutes. However, while the Redmi 14C comes at a lower price point, it compromises on other key specifications.
This exceptional battery endurance translates well into real-world usage. Even with moderate daily activities, I struggled to drain the battery below 50%, meaning it comfortably lasted well into the next day without needing a recharge.
For charging, the 44W adapter included in the box took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to fully charge the device from 0% to 100%. This ensures that even when the battery runs low, you won’t have to wait long to get back to full power.
Vivo T4x: Camera Performance
During my testing, the Vivo T4X delivered a commendable camera performance, making up for some of its multimedia and software shortcomings.
Under daylight conditions, the primary camera excelled at capturing natural colors with impressive accuracy. The images preserved the distinct characteristics of the subjects, and the HDR adjustment was generally well-balanced. However, in certain scenarios, a halo effect was noticeable in photos, though this wasn’t a recurring issue.
I was particularly impressed with the portrait shots. The edge detection was precise, and skin tones appeared accurate across different subjects. However, when zooming in, finer facial details weren’t as well preserved. While this is a minor flaw, it doesn’t take away from the overall strong performance of the camera.
In low-light environments, the camera performed reasonably well. However, sudden movements often resulted in blurred shots due to the lower shutter speed compensating for reduced light. Additionally, noise was visible in darker areas of the image. That said, the camera managed to retain color accuracy and capture a fair amount of detail, which is impressive for its segment.
The front camera produced appealing selfies in good lighting conditions, making them Instagram-ready with minimal adjustments. However, in low light, it struggled to retain finer details and introduced noticeable noise, slightly affecting the quality.
Vivo T4x: Final Verdict
The Vivo T4X is an excellent choice for users seeking long-lasting battery life without compromising on core smartphone features. It delivers impressive performance for its price, ensuring smooth multitasking and a seamless experience. The camera setup performs well in well-lit conditions, capturing detailed and vibrant images. Plus, the sturdy, stylish design adds to its overall appeal.
However, the device does have a few drawbacks. The LCD display lacks the rich colors and deep contrasts that an AMOLED panel would provide. Additionally, the 120Hz scrolling animation can occasionally feel slightly choppy. The stereo speakers, while loud, don’t offer the depth or bass that some users might prefer. On the software side, despite being fast and AI-enhanced, it tends to bombard users with excessive notifications.
Despite these minor shortcomings, the Vivo T4X remains a compelling option in the sub-₹15,000 price segment, offering a well-rounded mix of performance, battery life, and design.
